Regulatory Compliance and Plan Design

  • Meet with client to review objectives and recommend the plan type best suited to meet those objectives
  • Draft Plan document and employee summary plan description for review by legal counsel
  • Submit plan to IRS for favorable determination letter
  • Prepare employee communication materials announcing the plan and its provisions
  • Conduct employee enrollment meetings
  • Assist with voluntary compliance programs

Plan Administration

  • Traditional balance forward accounting method
  • Complete individual participant statements, master summary allocation and executive reports
  • Perform coverage and non-discrimination testing including average benefit test and general test
  • Prepare signature-ready annual tax returns to EBSA (Form 5500)
  • Assist auditors with required annual plan audits
  • Prepare Summary Annual Report and other notices for distribution to participants
  • Process payrolls and contributions on either a per pay period, monthly, or annual basis
  • Process plan benefits that become due as a result of termination/retirement
  • Process loans and other transactions as needed
  • Review Plan compliance
